Frequently Asked Questions about Fat Freezing Treatments
Fat freezing treatments are extremely popular in the UK and more and more people are learning about how they can get rid of fat in stubborn, hard to work on areas. While diet and exercise remove fat from all over the body, sometimes there are just areas where it does not seem to want to come off.
To this end, we have put together some frequently asked questions about fat freezing.
Can I go straight back to work?
Yes, in most cases of clients having our CoolSculpting treatment, they can resume their usual routine straight away. However, it is worth noting that everyone is different and you should assess your own needs and requirements on a personal basis.
Does the fat freezing treatment hurt?
It doesn’t hurt as such; however, there can be some slight discomfort when the skin is numbed during the procedure and the freezing applicator is used. There can be some pain after the procedure but this will depend on where on your body you have the treatment. Your clinician at The Image Clinic will be able to tell you what to expect when they have assessed you, prior to the treatment.
How does CoolSculpting work?
CoolSculpting freezes your fat cells, causing them to be broken down by the body. Your clinician will apply the cooling treatment to a pre agreed area of your body that you struggle to lose fat from; the cells then die and are processed by the body as waste.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on the area being worked on and what your individual needs and requirements are. When you come to the clinic for a consultation, we will discuss your requirements with you and conduct an assessment of the treatment plan we feel is most suitable for you.
Is CoolSculpting permanent?
Once the fat cells are destroyed, they are destroyed forever and removed by the body as waste. Weight loss caused by dieting and exercise shrinks the fat cells in the body but does not remove them completely.
Coolsculpting, by the very nature of how it works, targets specific areas where you have stubborn fat cells and destroys these cells in a way that diet and exercise (although the recommended way to lose weight all over) cannot do.
